The Reiss-Davis Child Study Center has provided quality continuing educational opportunities to the community of child mental health practitioners on the West Side of Los Angeles since its founding in 1950.
Starting in the 2009-2010 season the educational offerings have taken the form of Saturdays at the Center, a once a month continuing education lecture series that runs 5-7 months of the year, from fall to spring. Continuing Education Credits for Saturdays at the Center are available through the California Board of Psychology.
Every enrolled student of the Reiss Davis Graduate Center can attend the Saturdays at the Center lectures for free with pre-registration, and are encouraged to do so to supplement and expand on the classes they are already taking. All Reiss=Davis Alumni can sign up for each Saturday at the Center lecture at a reduced cost.
The schedule for Saturdays at the Center is issued each fall, and the lectures can be signed up for individually or as a whole series on the Vista Del Mar Continuing Education web page.
Since 2004 we have selected a living pioneer in the field of infant, child or adolescent mental health to honor, and bring to the Vista Del Mar campus to present on their latest research.
The 6 hour conference is held on a Friday in late winter, in lieu of the Saturdays at the Center lecture that would otherwise be scheduled that month.
Every enrolled student of the Reiss-Davis Graduate Center can attend the Edna Reiss-Sophie Greenberg Chair event for free with pre-registration (baring the fee for lunch), and are encouraged to do so. All Reiss-Davis Alumni can sign up for the Edna Reiss-Sophie Greenberg Chair event at a reduced cost.
The 2017 Edna Reiss-Sophie Greenberg Chair is Ed Tronic, who spoke on the topic of Infants Making of Meaning of Their Self in Relation to the World of People, Things, and Their Own Sef on January 20, 2017.
The 2018 Chair is forthcoming..
